Unlock your potential through coaching! This course focuses on the various responsibilities of a coach and the skills needed to successfully fill this important position. Throughout the course, students will explore various coaching models and leadership styles, safety, and conditioning. Students will learn effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The course will also introduce students to game strategy, tactical strategy, skills-based training, and coaching ethics.
Experimenting with Makeup:
Take your everyday look to the next level with this creative and hands-on makeup course! Students will explore a wide range of makeup techniques and styles, from everyday glam to high-impact special effects. Each week brings a new themed challenge—like Eye Week, Bling Week, Bridal Beauty, Halloween Transformations, and more—designed to spark creativity and build skills. Working in pairs, students will collaborate, experiment, and express their unique artistic flair while learning both classic and cutting-edge makeup applications.
The Fixer's Toolkit:
Construction Basics: Do you like working with your hands? Do you want to be able to fix things, build things, and support your friends and family with home projects? Do you want to start your own construction business and work for yourself in a high-paying industry? Then this Construction Basics course is an engaging introduction to the building trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general construction. The class emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and personal development. Students will explore a variety of trade careers while developing foundational skills in safety, tool identification, project planning, and goal setting. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper appreciation for the skilled trades, practical knowledge of basic tools and safety, and increased confidence in their ability to set and pursue goals.
Shark Tank/ Young Entrepreneurs:
Do you have an idea for a great new product or company like Mark Cuban? Do you want to be your own boss like Snoop Dogg? Get ready to take that idea to the next level in our Entrepreneurship class! You’ll learn how to create a product or company idea that can help your community. First, you'll explore and identify what your community needs. Then, you'll design a specific product to meet those needs. Finally, you'll practice pitching your idea to your classmates so that you can lock in investors to fund your project, just like real entrepreneurs do. This class will help you think creatively, work as a team, and communicate your ideas effectively. By the end, you'll have a project that shows your ability to make a positive impact in your community.
